Queens 90th Birthday

The country was abuzz last week celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.

Planning has been going on for months and years ..from the Trooping of the Colour to local street parties.  Buntings were seen on homes, pubs, parklands and high streets.

One local village, Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire put on a local fair.  They painted the green with the number 90 in the English colours of red, white and blue.

I felt like I was standing in the middle of the MCG for a moment .  !!

There was a  children’s jumping castle and fun rides  .

There were dogs everywhere.  The search was on to find which dog had the ‘waggiest’ tail.  I never did find out the winner.  There were so many dogs and the judging was taking forever.

I even got to pet an owl..

Isn’t he beautiful  ..!!!

Tea, coffee and cake was free and even a book put out by Bible Society, HOPE and the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity.

Yes Mother…….I have a copy for you !

The beer was only £3 a pint.

MP and his mates had it all set up for the weekend.

and I splashed out and bought two books

cost me 20 pence each !

What a nice way to celebrate a birthday ..

  1. What a lot of imagination and effort the English put into their celebrations. Good to see one of Remy’s mates in the photo. Don’t forget to curtesy if H.M. comes by.
